Ingredients:
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 onion salt
1 egg, beaten well
1 cup buttermilk (start with 3/4 cup & add rest if needed)
1/4 cup chopped green onion
optional: 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese or 1 cup corn
Instructions:
Mix lightly.

Form into walnut-sized balls.

Deep fry at 375 F, turning once.

Drain well.
