12 baguette slices4 oz mild, creamy Gorgonzola at room temperature 2 ripe Bartlett pears, halved, cored, and peeled Fresh ground pepper
1. Preheat oven to 400F.2. Place the baguette slices on a non-stick or ungreased baking sheet. Toast until lightly golden, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside. Spread each piece of toast with a thin layer of Gorgonzola.3. Slice the pears and then top each of the toasts with them and return to the baking sheet.4. Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 2 or 3 minutes, just long enough to melt the cheese and warm the pears. Garnish with fresh ground pepper.
