3 ripe Bartlett pears, peeled, cored and coarsley chopped4 tbsp unsalted butter 3 tbsp brown sugar 1 pint French vanilla ice cream
Heat the butter in a medium skillet on medium heat until completely melted. Add the pears and saute for about 3 minutes, or until nicely softened, stirring occasionally. Add the brown sugar and mix to combine until the sugar is melted, about another minute. The pears will begin to break down and make more sauce.Arrange scoops of ice cream in individual bowls. Spoon the pear compote over the ice cream and serve immediately.Serves 4
