1 kilo sweet potatoes3/4 cup brown sugar3 cups rice flour or all-purpose flour1 cup water1-1/2 cups corn oil for deep frying
A Batanes specialtyServes: 41. Peel sweet potatoes and cut into thin strips.2. Add sugar and flour to water and stir well.3. Add sweet potatoes to sugar and flour mixture and mix with a wooden spoon until well-coated.4. Heat oil in a frying pan.5. Scoop about 3 tablespoons of the mixture into a shallow saucer.6. Flatten with the back of a spoon and slip into hot oil.7. Fry until golden brown.
Rub cut apples with lemon juice to keep slices and wedges creamy white for hours.
