1 cup yellow cornmeal 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp soda 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 onion salt 1 egg, beaten well 1 cup buttermilk (start with 3/4 cup & add rest if needed) 1/4 cup chopped green onion optional: 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese or 1 cup corn
Mix lightly. Form into walnut-sized balls. Deep fry at 375 F, turning once. Drain well.
Also called Shaddock and Chinese grapefruit, pummelo is eaten fresh, in salads, or used in jams, jellies, marmalades and syrups.
