1 loaf dry Vienna bread2 1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp pepper1 1/2 tsp Sage5 tbsp. melted Crisco1 egg, beaten1 c. chopped celery1 small onion (chopped)3 pork chops (ground) include fat
Dip bread in water just long enough for it to crumble. Squeeze out most of the water. (Do only about 3 or 4 slices of bread at a time.) Mix with other ingredients. Line a pan with 2 layers of foil and pile dressing on it and bring up sides to cover.Bake in 325 degree oven for 6 hours. Do not stuff turkey with it or it won''t fully cook.
Used as you would cooked spinach, good-quality collards will have dark-green colored, broad, flat leaves that are crisp, upright and not wilted.
