2 cup mushrooms, sliced2/3 cup salad oil1/4 cup vinegar1 tbsp. sugar3 cloves garlic1 or 2 heads butter lettuceSalt and pepper
Wash lettuce and drain well. Slice mushrooms.Make dressing of oil, vinegar, sugar, and garlic. Toss torn lettuce, mushrooms, and dressing. Serve immediately.
Used as you would cooked spinach, good-quality collards will have dark-green colored, broad, flat leaves that are crisp, upright and not wilted.
