Ingredients:

6 Bosc pears
Port wine
White Chablis
1 Bay leaf
Juice of 2 oranges
2 Peppercorns
Thyme

Instructions:

1. Place wine in pan and cook until alcohol is gone. Taste. Peel, core and halve pears.

2. Immediately place in wine and simmer with juice of 2 oranges, 1 bay leaf, 2 peppercorns, and a little thyme. Test for doneness using tip of knife. Pears should be firm.
