Snow Peas
Selection Information
Usage: Eaten whole, fresh or cooked.
Selection: Also called sugar peas and Chinese peas, good-quality
Snow Peas will have flat pods that are firm and crisp with immature-looking
peas inside. The coloring will be an even light to medium-green. They should
be 3 to 3 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide.
Avoid: Avoid product with soft, limp pods or blemishes. Also avoid
snow peas where the peas inside approach the size of regular green peas.
Seasonal Information
Available year-round, peaking November through March.
Washington snow peas are available June through October.
