Usage: Use in salads or cooked like spinach or greens.
Selection: Also called radichetta and green chicory, good-quality chicory will have inner leaves that are crisp and pale green in color. There are a number of varieties of chicory including heading and loose-leaf.
Avoid: Avoid product that has wilted, brown-edged or discolored leaves.
Seasonal Information
Chicory is available year-round depending on the variety.
